I did not post an ace on 30 September 2026, so I am not going to invent a score. What I can stand behind is the published band: stop the meter between 82 and 87, and aim at the lower part of that band so a miss is short instead of a flyer.

The pure band

The strategy page calls 82–87 the pure strike. There is no half swing. Pick a club for the big distance, then use the meter for the last few yards. Driver is about 316 yards and the pitching wedge is about 138. An 8-iron sits near 166. Those are the official approximations, not a launch monitor I ran.

Roll decides the ace more than the fly

Green rollout is 2.10, so a ball that lands short and releases can reach the gold ring when a high shot at the flag checks up in the pale ring. Gold counts as one putt. Pale is two. Everything else is three. On a short hole the how-to page suggests a slightly softer clean line.

Lies that kill the ace

• Rough: 84 percent carry, 1.75 times the scatter, rollout 0.30.
• Bunker: 70 percent carry, capped near 160 yards, rollout 0.07.
• Deep rough: 62 percent carry, rollout 0.14.
• Water: rollout 0.00. You are not rolling out of it.
